Silverleaf Hall

Silverleaf Hall was built in 2006 to heal some of the scars of Bronx is Burning disinvestment. Located adjacent to the Cross Bronx Expressway and Walter Gladwin Park, Silverleaf Hall provides 118 units of permanent supportive and affordable housing in the Tremont neighborhood.

Apartment sizes range from studios to 3-bedroom units – with over 80 units family-sized. 55 units are set aside for homeless families and single adults living with special needs. A unit is reserved for the building’s live-in superintendent, who is available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.

In June 2025, Silverleaf Hall kicked off a Year 15 renovation project that will include new windows, substantial facade repairs, new rooftop solar PV system, and a fully electrified heating and cooling system for the apartments and common areas. This $14.6M project is funded through a combination of HDC taxable bonds, HPD capital subsidy, NYSERDA and Con Ed incentives, and a $1.75M FHLBNY AHP grant award. The project is scheduled for completion in Winter 2026.

Program offices offer space for staff to conduct individual and group meetings, life skills counseling, education and employment recommendations as well as referral support. Supportive services at Silverleaf Hall provide tenants with a variety of opportunities for personal growth.
