Timbale Terrace: Bringing Housing and Afro-Latin Jazz to East Harlem

Timbale Terrace delivers 341 mixed-income and supportive homes to East Harlem. The ground floor features a new home for Belongó, offering performance and community space celebrating Afro-Latin jazz and culture.

East Harlem continues to say yes to new homes, resoundingly demanding more affordable housing and more supportive housing. We are honored to respond to this call by developing Timbale Terrace, creating 341 urgently needed affordable homes, including 97 units of permanent supportive housing.

-Dan Kent, CEO & President of Lantern Organization

The development is the product of a partnership among Mega Group Development, the Lantern and the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

The 19 story building includes space for social services, a fitness center, community gathering space, and rooftop terraces. The first floor includes over 20,000 square feet for the Casa Belongó Music and Arts Center, providing a vibrant community hub and a world-class performing arts venue. The development meets the needs of families by providing two- and three-bedroom apartments making up 35 percent of the units.
